Police officers and firefighters are gathering in New York City for the largest multi-sport event outside of the Summer Olympics.
The World Police & Fire Games opened last Friday and will continue until Sunday, drawing an expected 18,000 first responders to compete in 69 different sports.
A brief disruption by Hurricane Irene cancelled events this past weekend, but all games resumed Monday.
Sports include hockey, baseball, basketball, soccer, swimming and judo.
