Long queues of nearly 600 people were there as early as 6.30am, and they stretched to 1,000 by 7.00am.
First in line to enter the STGCC convention hall was 35-year-old Roshiadiyanto Ibrahim, who started queuing at 10.30pm the night before.
This year's STGCC plays host to three guests-of-honour – Marvel's international talent scout CB Cebulski, DC Comics' legend Paul Levitz and Kieron Gillen, one of the rising writers with Marvel.
The two-day convention at Suntec City also features more than 80 exclusive collectibles and new product launches.
Cult favourite, Simone Legno, creator of the popular tokidoki brand, was seen signing autographs for fans on his collectibles at his Walk of Fame session at STGCC.

Fans were also happily snapping photographs of a Spiderman clone and Kipi, one of Japan's top cosplayers and pop culture personality guest at the convention.
