Manchester United have given up on their pursuit of Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder.
Senior United officials have reportedly told The Guardian newspaper that the club have grown tired of the prolonged transfer saga and have decided to pull the plug on their chase for the dynamic midfielder.
Sneijder's age - being on the wrong side of the Red Devils's age limit for new signings - and the hefty salary of around £200,000-a-week he is demanding, has proved too much for the club.
