Feuding brothers refuse to let undertaker in

He had one simple wish before he died: That his three-day wake be held in the terrace home where he had lived all his life.

But that wish will go unfulfilled.

Mr Ong Boon Pin, the third brother in the family, died of acute liver cancer on Sunday morning. He was 54.

Because the undertaker wasn't allowed to enter the house, Mr Ong's wish to have his wake at his family home could not be fulfilled.

His death has led into an ugly stand-off among four brothers with threats flying, an undertaker being barred from entering the property, and the police being called in.

The drama - which took place on Sunday - follows a long-running dispute among the five brothers over their late father's properties.

As a result, Mr Ong's cortege will head to Bright Hill Crematorium & Columbarium from the void deck of his fourth brother Ong Boon Sim's HDB flat in Serangoon Road, instead of his family's home at Vaughan Road in Upper Serangoon.
