THE younger brother of derivatives trader Ang Soo Hoon, accused of the murder of her housemate, has engaged criminal lawyer Subhas Anandan to represent her.
Ang, 36, was charged last Wednesday with the murder of property agent Celine Ng Swee Peng, also 36, at West Bay Condominium in West Coast Crescent.
The pair lived there in a two-bedroom apartment bought by Ms Ng.
The murder is said to have taken place in the sixth-floor apartment between 3am and 9.50am on May 26.
Ms Ng, who turned 36 that day, had celebrated her birthday with several friends, including Ang, at the flat the night before.
Ms Ng was scheduled to get married and had wedding cards printed, but the plans were called off unexpectedly, sources told Chinese evening newspaper Lianhe Wanbao in an earlier report.
She was an associate director at property company CB Richard Ellis. According to a recent report in The Straits Times, she had joined the company recently.
