Indian national Thiyagarajan Mathimaran, 33, is alleged to have squeezed the breast and later brushed against the buttocks of the 42-year-old in a staff toilet between 3pm and 3.30pm on Jan 1.

The tall and bespectacled doctor, who is no longer with the hospital where he was attached to the urology department, was represented by Mr K. R. Manicka.

He had worked in two other hospitals here before being posted to CGH last year.

Mr Manicka asked for four weeks to make representations to the Attorney-General’s Chambers.

District Judge Christopher Goh extended Thiyagarajan’s police bail of $5,000 until the next mention on Aug 16.

If convicted of outrage of modesty, he can be jailed for up to two years, fined, caned or receive any combination of the punishments.
