TTSH is most improved hospital, KTPH is No.1

TAN Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) was second place in the ranking of public hospitals for patient satisfaction in the Ministry of Health's Patient Satisfaction Survey for 2010.

TTSH improved the most - by 8 percentage points to 78 per cent - with most patients surveyed giving the hospital a "good" or "excellent" rating.

Patients liked the hospital's post-discharge call initiative, where nurses call patients to guide them on what to do after discharge.

Topping the chart is Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH), which opened last year (read more).

The hospital said it was "very pleasantly surprised" with the ranking and credited its doctors, nurses and the frontline staff who "made the difference to our patients".

Health Minister Khaw Boon Wan said: "KTPH is still new, but has already impressed its patients. The team is, of course, not new, having run Alexandra Hospital previously."
