Aleksandar Duric opened the scoring for Tampines in the seventh minute, after being put through by an Aliff Shafaein slide-rule pass, for his fifth goal in six matches.

The Stags kept control of the game with their delightful pass-and-move style and carved out several excellent chances, yet failed to seriously test Lionel Lewis in the Home goal. They paid for their profligacy when Home hit back with just nine minutes remaining.

Referee Sukhbir Singh awarded Home a contentious free-kick and Shi Jiayi's delivery was nodded home by Frederic Mendy.
