In a reply to MediaCorp on Friday, OpenNet said that, while rolling out the nationwide infrastructure, it has encountered a "handful of cases whereby incidental damages took place during installation by OpenNet's contractors".

In an investigation carried out jointly by both companies at one StarHub customer's house on Friday, it was found that, instead of installing its own trunking, OpenNet had jammed its fibre optic cable into StarHub's trunking, damaging the telco's cable in the process. This inadvertently caused television services to the home to be affected.
StarHub was still reviewing its legal options, given OpenNet has been "unsubstantive" in its response to StarHub's attempts to resolve the issue.
