Manchester United and Liverpool are ready to go battle for the signature of Standard Liege midfielder Steven Defour.
The 23-year-old has been under the radar of the two English giants for some time with United boss Sir Alex Ferguson sending him a get-well letter when Defour broke his foot in 2009.
Belgian giants Standard Liege are reportedly looking at offers in the region of £9million, which will not be an issue for both clubs.
Meanwhile, Ajax Amsterdam are also said to be joining in the race.
