David Moyes hailed the "superb professionalism" of skipper Phil Neville as his goal helped Everton to an emphatic 3-0 win over Wolves.

Moyes said: "Phil, with his level of professionalism, means that whatever he does in life after football, he will be a success.

"He is so dedicated and does everything he can to be a success. Any that he gets, he deserves. He works really hard at everything he does.

"Mind you, it was a surprise to see him score. I think he was crossing the ball! I don't think I've ever seen him score in training, never mind in games.

"But in all seriousness he has been a great signing for me and is someone everyone likes."

Jermaine Beckford opened the scoring and looked unhappy when substituted early in the second period.

"I told him if you play at Everton, that's what you do. But he played really well for 45 minutes and his movement for the goal was great."

Diniyar Bilyaletdinov added the third goal for Everton who cemented seventh spot in the table.

Neville: Everton should have scored more
"The gaffer told us to play the ball forward with our pace up front and we didn't do that early on," he told Sky Sports 2.

"But our Premier League experience showed in the end. We showed a good spirit and we should probably have scored four or five before the break. We have a nice run going."

Everton are currently without the likes of Louis Saha, Tim Cahill, Mikel Arteta and Marouane Fellaini. Defender Phil Jagielka hopes the experience young guns such as Magaye Gueye and Apostolos Vellios are picking up will benefit the club in the long term.

Howard: I fear Everton exodus
Despite clawing their way back to seventh, just one place behind bitter rivals Liverpool, the season is regarded in some quarters as one of damage limitation for David Moyes' men.

American stopper Tim Howard believes that their position in the league could leave Everton exposed to the Premier League giants eyeing the likes of Jack Rodwell, Marouane Fellaini and Mikel Arteta.

"That is always a concern. No one likes to talk about that, but football is a business, so it's a concern," said Howard.

"We lost Steven Pienaar in January, one of our best players, to what he felt were greener pastures.

He admits he is fearful a below-par season could see a host of top players leave Goodison Park.
