TRAVELLERS are advised to plan ahead when using land checkpoints at Woodlands and Tuas over the Good Friday weekend from April 22 as traffic is expected to be heavy.
The congestion is expected to start on Thursday, April 21 and will last until Sunday, April 24. Members of the public are advised to adjust their travel plans and car-pool or make use of public transport if possible.
Those taking the bus are encouraged to use the automated immigration clearance lanes at the bus halls for a speedy clearance using their BioPass.
Travellers will also be able to know in advance the traffic situation near the checkpoints from the Land Transport Authority's Expressway Monitoring & Advisory System (EMAS) installed along the Ayer-Rajah Expressway and the Bukit Timah Expressway.
The latest traffic conditions can also be checked using the traffic information hotline on 6863-0117 or LTA's One Motoring website.

Yesterday (Friday 22 April) traffic conditions AFTER Tuas 2nd Link was extremely bad. Cameras were 'deceiving' and showed 'clear' conditions at Tuas. However there was a 1.5Km or so jam near the Johore immigration checkpoint which easily took MORE than 1+ hour to clear. Also the emergency lane/shoulder was used. Today (23rd) the Causeway traffic is much lighter at noon time
