Hong Kong began their Asian Five Nations campaign with a win after they overcame Kazakhstan 23-10 in Almaty.
First-half tries from skipper Tom McColl and scrum-half Peter McKee laid the foundations for the visitors' victory, while Keith Robertson kicked 13 points.
Kazakhstan also had two men sent off for foul play in the second half.

In the other game, newly-promoted Sri Lanka saw a disallowed try cost them victory in a 13-13 draw with UAE in Colombo.
Following a scoreless first half, the home side took an 8-0 lead thanks to a try from Eranda Swarnatillaka and Nuwan Hettiarachchi's penalty.
UAE hit back through Dan Boatwright and Steve Smith's tries and were leading 13-8 following Jonathon Grady's penalty.
However, Hettiarachchi's long burst saw him touch down to even the scores but the home side's kicking was off target as they spurned opportunities to take the lead.
Lasitha Costa thought he had won it at the end but his late try was disallowed for a knock-on.
