Prominent S'porean businessman in M'sia highway accident

SINGAPORE: Singapore multi-millionaire SM Abdul Jaleel Shaik Mohamed was involved in an accident on a Malaysian highway. He suffered minor injuries, but his mother died in the crash.

Mr Jaleel is a prominent businessman, well-known as a donor for many social causes.

The family, travelling in three cars, was on their way back from Kuala Lumpur.

Only one car, which was carrying six passengers excluding the driver, was involved in the accident.

Mr Jaleel, his sister and his mother were among those in the car.
