Principal had sex with 8 students in exchange for higher grades

HANOI, Vietnam - A Vietnamese high school principal was sentenced to nine years' jail for having sex with eight schoolgirls in exchange for giving them higher grades.

Sam Duc Xuong, was convicted of having sex with the students aged 13 to 18. Most of their encounters took place in his office at Viet Lam High School in northern Ha Giang province, said Presiding Judge Mai Van Hung.

The judge said Xuong paid the schoolgirls and abused his power as a principal to force them to have sex with him in exchange for better marks for a year until September 2009. He was exposed when the family of one of the victims reported to police.
