Ref: MFA on Romanian court allowing Ionescu to travel
Romania's Prosecution Office is appealing against a court decision to allow former diplomat Silviu Ionescu to travel outside of the capital Bucharest.
Singapore's Foreign Affairs Ministry said it has been informed of the move and that the appeal will be heard on Monday.
Last week, a Romanian court allowed Ionescu's application after he argued that, as a business consultant now, he needed to travel around the country.
The former diplomat faces trial for causing the death of a pedestrian in Singapore in December 2009. He has also been charged with causing injuries and making false statements.
