SINGAPORE: More people are engaging house cleaning companies to get their homes spick and span in the two months leading up to the Lunar New Year.
Cleaning companies Channel NewsAsia spoke to said business is up by 10 to 15 per cent as compared to the same period last year.
Service Manager of DomesticONE, Keith Yew, said: "Customers do actually request that we clean in detail, like in between the lines of the tiles... requests like this, we need two days to service one apartment."
And with new properties sprouting up each year, competition is heating up.
To stay ahead, companies are investing in new cleaning machines, like those that can remove allergens, and even eco-friendly detergents.
Their clients, mostly busy professionals, feel it is worth the cost, with their services fully booked all the way into the Lunar New Year.
A single four-hour session of cleaning costs about S$300 for smaller flats and up to S$2,500 for bigger houses, like bungalows, during this period.
