Several trees and branches fell down along Mandai Road last night due to strong wind and heavy rains. Some of them fell into cars, causing a kilometre-long jam.

According to a Straits Times report, a woman's car was driving down the road when a tree fell onto a street lamp, which sent it crashing down to her Toyota Picnic. While she was unhurt, the rear of her car was bady damaged.
The heavy downpour, which lasted for about two hours, started at around 4 pm. Smooth traffic flow only resumed about 8 pm, after the fallen trees that caused a jam in the direction of the Singapore Zoo were cleared a half hour earlier.
