Dozen injured in Ibiza stabbing rampage

IBIZA - A dozen people were injured on Wednesday after being stabbed by a man armed with a machete and an iron bar in the town of Sant Antoni in the Spanish island of Ibiza, local newspaper Diario de Ibiza reported.

Local police have arrested the alleged assailant, a 41-year-old Moroccan living in the town.

The incident occurred at a supermarket around 13.15 pm, when several employees of the establishment called the attention of the man who was allegedly stealing, according to a witness. The man assaulted a cashier, and two other employees, before running away. He then stabbed a number of people indiscriminately in nearby streets.

The victims were taken to the hospital, but their identities are not yet known.
