The market/hawker centre at Block 409 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10 will be closed for upgrading works from 1 March 2011 under NEA's Hawker Centres Upgrading Programme (HUP).
The upgrading works aims to give the centre a modern and fresh look with new lightings, floor and wall tiles. In addition, the ventilation of the centre will also be improved through the introduction of mechanical exhaust flue systems and new high level louvers. There will also be an increase in seating capacity, while wider passageways and barrier free access will also provide better navigation and convenience.
The toilets will be relocated away from the refreshment area so as to provide a more pleasant dining experience. The new toilets will also incorporate child-friendly features. A new handicap toilet that can double-up as a diaper changing room will also be constructed as part of the upgrading works.
The centre is expected to resume for business in the fourth quarter of 2011.
