Bellevue boy, 16, shoots 12-year-old brother in the mouth

A 16-year-old boy shot his 12-year-old brother in the mouth Monday evening, Bellevue police said.

The two were in an altercation when the 16-year-old picked up the gun and shot his brother at about 7:30 p.m., the release said.

The 12-year-old was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle from the 16200 block of Northeast 12th Court with life-threatening injuries, according to a news release from Bellevue police spokeswoman Marcia Harnden.

The older brother was detained by Bellevue for questioning on Monday, the release said. Police don’t have a motive for the shooting and do not know where the 16-year-old got the gun, Harnden added.ORIGINAL SOURCE
