A 51-year-old Pierce County man has been arrested for allegedly making threats against Gov. Chris Gregoire, according to the State Patrol.
The Internet threat arrived at the governor's office about 6:15 a.m. Tuesday. Detectives traced the threat to the suspect in around six hours, according to the State Patrol.
Detectives went to the man's home but he was not there. Detectives searched the area and found the suspect at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday as he was walking along 200th Street East in the Graham area.
The man was booked into the Pierce County Jail for investigation of one count of making threats against the governor or the governor's family, a felony.
Security for elected officials has taken on a higher profile since the shooting of U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, an Arizona Democrat, and several others in Tucson earlier this month.
