Person who plummeted onto I-5 was a teenager

Lynnwood, WA: A man died Friday afternoon after plummeting from an overpass onto northbound Interstate 5 in Lynnwood, according to the State Patrol. Witnesses on top of the overpass "saw the man trying to go over and tried to drag him back over the rail."

Three lanes are currently blocked for the investigation.

The man fell or jumped from the Interstate 405 overpass onto I-5 near the Alderwood mall at about 3 p.m. and, according to Trooper Keith Leary, was struck by a vehicle, which in turn swerved and struck another vehicle that went into a ditch.

No one in the two vehicles was hurt.
