Penalities on misdeliveries for postal service being considered

SINGAPORE - As part of the ongoing process to improve quality service standards for postal deliveries, penalties on misdeliveries would be considered, said Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts Lui Tuck Yew in parliament yesterday.

There was a surge of complaints against SingPost, totalling 108 in the second half of last year, he said.

SingPost has been meeting quality service standards on mail delivery which requires them to deliver 99 per cent of mail meant for destinations in the Central Business District (CBD) by the next working day.

For locations outside the CBD area, SingPost has also met standards by delivering 98 per cent of the mail collected by the next working day.
