Local News: COE For Feb 2011 to July 2011

The Certificates of Entitlement (COEs) quota for the period February 2011 to July 2011 will be 22,368. Bidding under this quota will start with the February 2011 First Open Bidding Exercise.

For the next six months, the quota for each category is as follows

- Category A (1600 cc and below & Taxis) - 6121 (monthly: 1020)
- Category B (1601 cc and above) - 5082 (monthly: 847)
- Category C (Goods vehicles and Buses) - 3307 (monthly: 551)
- Category D (Motorcycles) - 3906 (monthly: 651)
- Category E (Open) - 3952 (monthly:659)

The COE quota consists of the following components:

* Provision for 1.5% vehicle growth based on the vehicle population as at 31 December 2010;
* Replacement COEs for vehicles de-registered between July and December 2010; and
* Adjustment for over -projections of vehicle de-registrations in 2008/2009.

As announced by Minister for Transport, Mr Raymond Lim, the correction period for the remaining adjustments will be 3 years, up to January 2014, instead of the remaining 1 year.

The next COE quota announcement, for the COE bidding period from August 2011, will be made in July 2011.
