Four teens arrested for snatch theft in Sembawang

SINGAPORE: Four teenagers, aged between 14 and 16, were arrested for their alleged involvement in a case of snatch theft.

Police said the snatch theft occurred at Montreal Green Park in Sembawang on New Year's Eve at about 9.30pm.

On Friday, a 23-year-old man had his mobile phone snatched away by four unknown assailants.

The victim gave chase and caught one of the boys. Police subsequently arrested the other three boys.

If convicted, the teens face jail of up to seven years and caning.
