SINGAPORE - A salesman at Sim Lim Square has been caught on video verbally abusing customers after they asked him for a price breakdown of their purchases.
The video showed the salesman refusing to reveal the price breakdown to the two customers and then hurling vulgarities at them.
One of the customers, a 25-year-old Chinese national named Chen Tao, had bought a Sanyo camcorder and accessories like a wide-angle lens and extra batteries from a shop called "Compact Electro".
The two customers then tried to get their money back after they realised they had paid too much money for it. That was when the salesman, reportedly named Mike, started verbally abusing them.
Mike's employer Vincent Seow, also the owner of "Compact Electro", said he was very upset with his employee.
"Whether he's right or wrong (sic), the customer is always right. Scold a vulgar word against the customer, you're wrong," he said.
The video has since gone viral on video-sharing website YouTube after Chen's companion uploaded it. It garnered 18,000 hits in one day.
YouTube removed the 1st video. This is the 2nd one, censored apparently.
