10 hurt in cop-outlaw gunfight in Bangladesh

A team of Atgharia Police Station rushed to Jorgacha Madrasa around 3:30am following a tip that a group of 10/12 outlaws was holding a secret meeting to commit crimes, police said.

Sensing the presence of police, the gang opened fire at them, triggering a half-an-hour long gunfight, they claimed.

Gazi Haniful Islam, officer-in-charge of Atgharia Police Station, and his four colleagues sustained minor injuries during the gunfight, reports our correspondent in Pabna.
