Uruguay beat Ghana 4-2 on penalties

Ten man Uruguay marched into the World Cup semi finals last night.

African heroes Ghana suffered double spot-kick agony as Asamoah Gyan missed a penalty in extra time as the drama went all the way in Soccer City.

Uruguay then took full advantage as they won the resulting shoot-out.

Ex-United striker Forlan, whose dramatic equaliser took the game to extra time, was left celebrating as Ghana and the whole of Africa were left heartbroken.
