World Cup hosts in danger of premature exit

World Cup hosts usually advance to the knockout stage, but would The Bafana Bafana be the first to pip this trend?

South Africa 0-3 Uruguay

Two-goal Forlan was the architect of South Africa's downfall as his stunning 25 yard first half shot and late penalty finally shut up those horns and had the home fans heading in their droves for the exit gates.

The reality had sunk in that the hosts now need a minor miracle in Bloemfontein next Tuesday in their final Group A match with France to stand any chance of qualifying for the knock-out stage.
