Selangor 4-1 Darul Takzim
Selangor moved level on points with Malaysia Super League leaders ATM on Saturday after recording a dominant 4-1 win over Darul Takzim at the Shah Alam Stadium.
It took the Red Giants just four minutes to open the scoring when S. Kunanlan fired them ahead, before Francis Forkey Doe doubled their lead in the 36th minute when he finished from close range.
Darul Takzim were however handed a chance to get back into the game three minutes before the hour mark when the hosts were reduced to ten men; centre-back Peter Chrappan receiving his marching orders for a second bookable offence.
However, Selangor showed no signs of being affected by the numerical deficit and added a third in the 68th minute through Mahalli Jasuli, before veteran forward Amri Yahyah made it 4-0 a minute later.
The visitors did manage to pull one back 15 minutes from time when Norshahrul Idlan Talaha scored with a superb solo effort, but it was little more than a mere consolation as Irfan Bakti's charges held out for a convincing win.
The victory was enough to send Selangor level on points with leaders ATM, although they remain second on goal difference.
Shahfiq Ghani scored the only goal of the game in the 87th minute when he raced through to meet an Irwan Shah through-pass and slid his shot past Khairul Fahmi, helping his side beat the Red Warriors for the first time ever in the process.
Finally, a 41st-minute winner from Razali Umar handed FELDA United a 1-0 win at bottom side Negri Sembilan, who are still looking for their first win of the campaign.
