EPL Highlights

West Ham 1-3 Chelsea

West Ham midfielder Scott Parker became the first player to score against the Blues this season but his late effort was scant consolation for the home side. Chelsea's 100% start to the new season continued against as a brace from Michael Essien and another from Salomon Kalou kept them top of the Barclays Premier League.

Manchester City 1-1 Blackburn

Having retired from England duty, Paul Robinson is intent on doing his best for Blackburn and he showed Fabio Capello what he is missing after making a string of superb saves.

The only time he was beaten was in the 55th minute when Patrick Vieira equalised for City after Ivan Kalinic had opened the scoring.

Arsenal 4-1 Bolton

Class, pure class. The Emirates crowd were treated to a majestic performance from Cesc Fabregas that was close to perfection.

He dismantled Bolton with the kind of dynamic and imaginative midfield play that made him the prime target for Barcelona.

Newcastle 0-2 Blackpool

Charlie Adam brought Newcastle down to earth with a bump as Blackpool snatched another three priceless Barclays Premier League points.

The Scot converted a 45th-minute penalty after Luke Varney had been tripped by Alan Smith to claim a hard-fought victory.

West Brom 1-1 Tottenham

Harry Redknapp's side dominated the first half with Gareth Bale causing constant problems down the left flank but Chris Brunt scored the 50th league goal of his career to rescue a point for West Brom in the Barclays Premier League clash with Tottenham at the Hawthorns.

The former Sheffield Wednesday player cancelled out Luka Modric's opener four minutes before the interval.

Fulham 2-1 Wolves

Jelle van Damme gave Wolves an early lead when he tucked home Kevin Doyle's cross but Mousa Dembele pounced in injury time to give Fulham victory in a bruising contest that saw England striker Bobby Zamora stretchered off.

The impressive Dembele, a £5million summer arrival from AZ Alkmaar, also delivered the match-winning free-kick in the dying moments after Wolves' Christophe Berra had been sent off for picking up two yellow cards.

Wigan 1-1 Sunderland

Antolin Alcaraz's late header salvaged a point for Wigan after debutant Asamoah Gyan had opened the scoring for 10-man Sunderland at the DW Stadium.

Everton 3-3 Man Utd

Sir Alex Ferguson must have thought he’d seen it all in 36 years as a manager. Yet his 700th Premier League game was one that even he will struggle to explain. Everton were first and last to laugh.
